Guangzhou & Hong Kong 3.10.02 - 7.10.02

Day 39: Guangzhou

Arrived in Guangzhou around 7 AM. Local hostel didn`t have any dorm bed`s available, so I had to take a single room, which was bit over my price range. At least I got to take first shower in four days. Visited Qingping foodmarket in afternoon. Witnessed brutal deaths of a chicken and couple of frogs. They also had mean looking snakes for sale.

Day 40: Guangzhou - Hong Kong

After being wake for 48 hours, I slept like a baby last night. Mission of the day was to find restaurant with english menu and have some snake for lunch. Easier said than done: I tried five different places, but none of them had english menus. Visited in a local monastery before heading to train station. Even though Hong Kong is part of China, it`s really not: They got tight border crossing formalitys with passport checks and decloration forms. Got to Hong Kong in a evening, but after finding hostel I was too tired to go anywhere.

Day 41: Hong Kong

Almost had a shock when I went for breakfast: After China everything seemed so expensive. Spend whole day just walking around Kowloon. Visited local nightmarket and bought couple DVD`s in a evening.

Day 42: Hong Kong

Took famous Star ferry to Hong Kong island in a morning. After visiting Victoria peak, I went to Stanley streetmarket, where I had probably the most expensive beer I`ve ever had: Almost 6$. Like yesterday, had dinner in foodcourt of some mall. Sad, I know, but it was all I could afford.

Day 43: Hong Kong - Moscow - Helsinki - Oulu

Took a express train to airport in a morning . Price was ridiculous 13$, but it only took 20 minutes to get there, while on a bus it would have taken over an hour. Aeroflot showed old Russian black&white movies from 40`s and 50`s. Which was nice
